Court House, Virginia on May 12, 1864, and taken to Point Lookout, Maryland on May
14, |
| 1864. On August 3, 1864, he was transferred to Elmira, New York, where he
died in prison of disease. The Elmira |
| prison had the highest death rate of any
Northern prison camp. |
