| Micajah Autry fought in the
War of 1812 and survived. He later went to fight in |
| the Battle of the Alamo, and
was given the opportunity to shoot Santa Ana. However, |
| his bullet went wild and Santa
Ana was not hit. Despite that he missed, that was |
| the first time Santa Ana had
to worry about his safety. Micajah Autry ultimately |
| was killed at the age of
forty-two at the Alamo. A painting of him hangs in the |
| Alamo today and he
is even a character in the new movie, The
Alamo. |
