| John Daniel Taylor, Jr. was a
carpenter and served in the Confederate Army |
| under Beauregard; he was one of the survivors of Company B 12th GA Battalion, |
| at the storming of Fort Stedman.
The Confederate offensive at Fort Stedman began |
| at
Colquitt's Salient on March 25, 1865. John Daniel Taylor was later
captured at |
| Richmond, Virginia
and taken prisoner. He was released at Farmville, |
| Virginia in April
of 1865 after the surrender of the war. |

| Amanda Melvira Moye was the
first person to be buried in the Rentz Cemetery. |
